Commission prices and procedures.

We do accept commission work when requested. This page provides a basic price list, along with a description of the way we approach commission jobs.

Prices per mini are determined by a variety of factors. Complexity of assembly and painting, along with the base treatments are considered in gauging the cost of a figure.  Some miniature companies (such as Rackham or Ilyad Games), produce miniatures that are more fragile and have more detail, and require more preparation before painting can begin. This can also raise the cost of a miniature. If you want other specialized treatments such as OSL (Object Source Lighting) or freehand work, this will also contribute to a higher quoted price.  The following price list is very broad and generalized, as all these above factors must be determined to create a more accurate price quote.

These are examples of prices ranges for certain types, or classes of miniatures.

Standard 28mm “troop” style figures are $45-65 each.

Leader figures or special characters are $65-150 each.

Mounted figures are $100-250 each.

Large creatures or monsters are $85-300 each.

BASING: We have a variety of basing methods, many of which you can see in the various images of our painted minis. There are several themes represented, in both fantasy and sci-fi. If the miniatures to be painted must fit on a required sized base, please let us know before the project has begun. 

COLOR SCHEMES: If a miniature needs to be painted in a specific color scheme, please let us know what it needs to look like. I usually frown upon exactly replicating a paint job by another painter out of consideration to them. I will alter it in some way, so that there are some differences.

COMPLETION DATES: Specific completion dates are not offered, since we work on many projects at once for a number of clients. I will let you know before the project begins roughly how long would be required, or if there are so many other jobs under way that I cannot begin right away. Work in progress images can be provided if desired.

PAYMENT: Multi-view images, such as those shown on this site, are sent to the buyer upon completion of a miniature. Payment for the miniature is requested when these images have been sent. PayPal is the recommended method of payment.

SHIPPING: If the miniature is part of a larger project, it is more advisable to ship a number of miniatures at once, which saves a great deal of cost on shipping.  I use UPS and USPS. For international shipping, I use USPS Air Parcel Post Global Priority shipping envelopes. Inside the envelope is a reinforced box containing the painted figure.

OTHER DETAILS: Please note that we do not paint entire armies. The largest number of figures we would paint in any sort of grouping is 25 to 30 figures. It is best if fewer than 20 minis are sent for us to paint at any one time. Also, we do not paint “gaming standard” miniatures. Our figures are painted to the highest possible quality and to the best of our abilities. All of our metal surfaces are painted with the non-metallic metal technique known as NMM.

There are also certain miniatures which we feel are too fragile or cumbersome to be shipped. In these cases we inform the client that it is too risky to paint such a figure.
