Jim and Cathy Wappel are the proud owners of
WindyCity Miniatures. They have been painting and
sculpting miniatures for the past five years. Cathy and
Jim have painted hundreds of miniatures and sculpted hundreds of custom bases, as commissioned works or
to be sold on Ebay.

Cathy started painting miniatures back in 1990, when she was in college and heavy into playing role-playing games. She attended the College of Associated Arts where she developed her artistic talents. Cathy met Jim at WindyCon and they fell in love and got married, that’s when she really got into painting miniatures. This was due to the fact that all of Jim’s Bloodbowl miniatures were not painted, so she painted them for him. Jim got interested in painting miniatures from watching Cathy paint them.

 
Jim has been a professional Fantasy artist since 1989, and has been exhibiting his artwork at conventions and other venues across the U.S. and Canada (about 50 shows a year). His flat artwork has several themes... fantasy, sci-fi/media, astronomicals, historical and mythology.  He started painting miniatures with Cathy in 2002.
